held in Wrocław, Poland

Exploiting the opinions that go far beyond anecdotes, sweeping generalizations or initial inhibitions invites reflexive thinking outside the box and encourages innovative analytic methods that promote future rapid and effective communication and information exchange between instructors and students—the goal and latest advances being made in many disciplines of scientific research in universities and academic institutions. And both students and instructors have already agreed upon the increase of quality expectations of online teaching that it could no longer be sufficient to replicate face-to-face delivery and that efforts to achieve the necessary teaching outcomes can be relevantly targeted. The integration of information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, and gamification into instruction and learning will be further enhanced, making e-learning a vital component of school learning curriculum. Traditional offline learning and e-learning would go alongside, improving the learning experience for learners of all ages and groups. Conceived in this way, education policy calls for insightful investigations and scrutinized research.  

In view of the above, we clearly see that the COVID-19 pandemic challenged the idea of distance learning in many various ways. Online teaching and learning became not only a necessity imposed by authorities, but also a convincing mode of knowledge transfer in various pedagogical and didactic environments. Now, more than two years after the pandemic started, our overarching concern remains how to respond to the opportunities that the pandemic has created for creating, developing, reinforcing, strengthening, and propagating viable systems of distance learning and teaching as a well-grounded, convincing, effective, and fully justifiable online delivery. And now, as we look to the future, it is all the more so important to step back in order to take stock of what happened during the COVID years in terms of school system governance, limitations of infrastructure or service provisions, access to critical resources, course design and implementation, adverse experience, remarkable adaptations, and creative workarounds, instructors’ and students’ attitudes and perceptions towards e-learning. Referring back to COVID-19 and what it left us with, we promote the idea of transition into non-pandemic environment and/or a smooth shift into online communication in situations in which traditional face-to-face meeting proves impossible.  

We invite research papers on the applicability of e-learning methodologies into university curriculum, learning design, education technology that may be of interest to a broader education community. We also welcome studies that 

  1. include straightforward research questions, a framework of analysis; 
  2. focus on teaching and learning in various fields of science; 
  3. address specific challenges in improving students’ achievements, approaches used to motivate and engage students, and lessons learnt from changes in teaching programs and instruction based on educational technology in general;
  4.  exploit the extent to which new approaches are likely to be sustainable
  5.  examine case studies of new approaches to teaching with evidence to their impact;
  6.  highlight service design and innovation, service business models, digitalization of services;
  7.  explore and trigger new ideas and/or provide further insight and uncover hidden patterns.

The language of the conference is English. Paper proposals with abstracts, up to 300 words, followed by 5-7 keywords, with the participant’s title and affiliation should be sent via registration form by 31.03.2023. The organizer will notify the participants of abstract acceptance by 14.04.2023. Presentations of papers should last maximum 20 minutes.  

We encourage on-site participation in the conference venue with the following fees:  

  • early bird registration (until January 31, 2023) — 150 Euro;  
  • normal registration (until February 28, 2023) — 200 Euro;  
  • late registration (from March 1, 2023 to March 15, 2023) —250 Euro; 
  • last-minute registration (March 16, 2023 to March 31, 2023) — 300 Euro.  

Online participation registration 

  • until 15 March, 2023 — 100 Euro; 
  • 16-31 March 2023 — 150 Euro 

may also be possible when you cannot come in person. Fee payment details will be sent with the confirmation of abstract acceptance.
